The Poco F9 Pro offers near-flagship show astatine nether £600. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V bid chipset – the CPU is the aforesaid arsenic connected the flagship 8 Elite Gen 5 spot (with 2x 4.61GHz and 6x 3.63GHz Oryon cores), but the GPU has two-thirds the compute units.
The V bid compares favorably against the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 (non-Elite) arsenic it has higher CPU timepiece speeds and 12MB of Adreno High Performance Memory (HPM). That’s two-thirds of what the full-fat spot has (18MB), but the non-Elite mentation has none. That said, Xiaomi needs to fine-tune the throttling algorithm arsenic the behaviour we saw during our review wasn’t ideal.
Still, the V bid is an awesome chip. Aside from it, the Poco F9 Pro sits successful the mediate – it’s not excessively ample and it’s not excessively tiny with a 6.59” display. This is simply a large sheet with 1,156 x 2,560px resolution, 12-bit colors with Dolby Vision, 185Hz refresh rate, 4,500 nits highest brightness and Gorilla Glass 7i.
Similarly, the artillery is ample but not immense astatine 6,330mAh – it does enactment accelerated 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. In our tests, plugging successful a 100W HyperCharge adapter for 15 minutes was capable to get 41% complaint portion a afloat complaint took 43 minutes. With an Active Use Score of 19:06h, the F9 Pro fundamentally matches the endurance of pricier flagships similar the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the Poco F8 Ultra from past year.
As for the cameras, they are amended than what Poco phones person typically utilized successful the past, but it’s not connected the level of the F9 Ultra. What you get is simply a 200MP 1/1.56” sensor successful the main camera with an f/1.7 OIS lens, a 50MP 2.5x/60mm telephoto and an underwhelming 8MP ultra-wide. These are not the best, but they are beauteous bully for the terms people – a Galaxy S26 won’t get you a 200MP main camera. Or a Snapdragon chipset for that matter.
You should see getting the 512GB exemplary – this doesn’t bargain you much RAM (it’s inactive 12GB), but it’s conscionable £50 much for treble the storage.
We whitethorn get a committee from qualifying sales.
