It’s a immense leap — and present immoderate of the biggest clubs successful England are wondering: Is helium acceptable for the adjacent measurement astatine nine level too?

Summerville was 1 of the fewer agleam spots successful a truly pugnacious play for West Ham. A determination distant would:

• Raise funds for West Ham
• Let Summerville keep playing top-flight football (the highest level)

So, who’s interested?

• Manchester United are considering him arsenic a left-wing enactment this summer
• Aston Villa person besides looked into signing him
• Liverpool showed involvement earlier, but thing came of it

1. Scored an astonishing left-footed goal successful a 2-2 gully with Japan — the Netherlands’ archetypal game
2. Scored a extremity and got an assist arsenic a half-time substitute successful a 5-1 thrashing of Sweden

His cardinal strengths include:

• Blazing accelerated speed — defenders hatred trying to support up with him
• Incredible dribbling — helium tin weave done defenders similar they’re lasting still
• Scoring from intolerable angles — helium finds ways to enactment the shot successful the nett adjacent erstwhile it looks truly hard

How Does He Actually Play?

Let’s interruption down his playing benignant successful elemental terms.

His Position

Summerville has played successful a fewer antithetic roles for West Ham, but he’s most effectual connected the near wing. That’s the presumption clubs similar Villa and Manchester United would privation him for.

His Build and Style

At astir 5ft 8in (172cm), Summerville isn’t the tallest player. But that’s really an vantage successful immoderate ways:

• He uses his quick acceleration and fancy footwork to bushed defenders alternatively than trying to triumph headers successful the air

United besides person Patrick Dorgu, a left-footed converted wing-back, who offers a wholly antithetic style.

Aston Villa

If Summerville went to Villa, helium wouldn’t beryllium replacing Morgan Rogers directly. Rogers plays much arsenic an wrong guardant (someone who operates betwixt the wings and the center) and is much of a extremity menace successful the box. Rogers’ crippled is besides little focused connected dribbling.

The World Cup Is Showing His Adaptability

Here’s the breathtaking part: Summerville’s World Cup performances are proving helium tin adapt to antithetic roles.

Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has played him connected the right wing successful each 3 radical games — not his accustomed near side. He’s played up of right-back Denzel Dumfries, and the 2 person combined truly well. This shows however Summerville could beryllium utilized astatine a caller club.

He’s besides shown helium can:

• Drive done cardinal areas with the shot and nexus up attacks
• Hold the ball to fto teammates get into presumption earlier laying it disconnected (like helium did for Cody Gakpo’s extremity against Sweden)
• Drift into the box and find shooting positions erstwhile others are creating

Summerville is proving he’s more than conscionable a standout subordinate connected a relegated team. He’s showing helium tin accommodate to caller demands and environments.

Whether helium does capable to person a Champions League-level nine to marque that large bet? We’ll person to hold and see.

Summary

• Crysencio Summerville went from ne'er being called up to the Netherlands elder squad to starring astatine the World Cup successful conscionable a month
