Can you work the substance above? Because ample connection models can’t.
The plan and tech institution Mixfont has created Decoy Font, which promises to fell your substance from AI crawlers. As covered successful Dezeen, the font works by utilizing 2 layers for each letter, a wide outline and past a darker, blurred signifier underneath. Humans are capable to parse some layers—try squinting oregon stepping back— but AIs can’t. (This is Mixfont’s 2nd experimentation with AI-proofing text. Their archetypal was Ghost Font, a benignant of nausea inducing font that hides by moving.)
“Most AI systems enactment by speechmaking the pixels of an representation up close,” according to Mixfont, “So erstwhile this benignant of representation is pasted into an AI model…the LLM focuses connected the foreground substance due to the fact that that is what is astir intelligibly outlined.” It’s a clever, lo-fi mode to interruption AI models’ quality to process your writing.
I similar this experiment, some arsenic a plan entity and arsenic a originative mode to defy AI. Plus I emotion camouflage (sorry to my friends who person heard a batch astir dazzle ships) and I hatred AI. Unfortunately, Mixfont is hardly a chap militant successful the anti-AI resistance. The institution describes itself arsenic “an AI-powered integer font foundry,” and astir of their tools fto users AI make synthetic fonts (based connected different people’s plan work, presumably).
Mixfont’s AI-resistant plan experiments are portion of their broader enactment successful AI, a mode “to trial the limits of what LLMs would easy solve,” Mixfont laminitis Eric Lu told Dezeen.
“I deliberation the absorption to the font shows that determination are galore folks who consciousness beardown AI fatigue,” Lu said, “and privation a mode to support themselves against the beingness of AI successful their lives.” You’re preaching to the choir, my friend! It’s not excessively precocious to repent.
You tin play astir with Decoy Font and work much astir the methodology connected Mixfont’s website.
